If you have your children in the car shouldnt you slow down in the rain

cause they are not THINKING..and yes they should slow way down regardless...cause of the children in OTHER cars if nothing else

When it rains it doesn't neceseraly means that you have to slow down. It actually depends on your capabilities for driving in wet terrain, as well as type of tires, suspension, lights, etc. Most of the accidents that occur when driving is because of slow drivers, because they think no one is going at normal speed, change lanes, and most of the times, that's when a good driver has an accident because of a slow driver. And it's not like they want to hurt people, what you should do when driving in the rain, is be three times more aware of the surroindings an your capabilities along with the car's. And when having children aboard, it doesn't matter if it's raining or not, you should slow down.

People tend to overestimate the stopping distance of their vehicle at the best of times. In adverse conditions (rain, snow, ice etc) it can be very difficult to determine exactly how fast one can go while leaving a safe stopping distance.
Modern cars make the problem worse, because people come to rely on the "magical" stopping powers of anti-lock brakes.

In the rain people just need to put more space between their car and the one in front of them. This is the best way to avoid accidents.

It's the same as people driving too fast in the snow. They get over confident and careless, they lack the responsibility to drive safely. It doesn't help any that advertisers tell the public how safe their autos are with SUVs, traction-aiding components, etc.

It's called stupidity. People never believe that what they do is wrong or they act without thinking, hence the name "accidents". Maybe we should change the name to "purpose" so that the poor drivers may start to get the message.

drive safely. some people go overboard with driving slowly and drive too slow and cause just as much danger as those that drive too fast.

they just think of themselves, not others,
