You are on the right track.

In a nutshell, spirituality is striving to live by The Golden Rule and serving others. In doing so, we cultivate our ability to love genuinely and deeply. That ability, which corresponds to our ability to Radiate Spiritual White Light, is how we are judged by the Higher Power or The Light in the Spirit after we leave the flesh. That Light is infinite and nonliving and governed by Universal Law which cannot be changed. The more spiritually evolved the individual, the greater the potential - once free of matter - to ascend into The Light, to expand in consciousness, and to be powerful.

Yes. Everyone should have a personal relationship with God. How can you become closer to him and let him direct your life if you're not close to him. Spirituality can come in many forms, however, not all forms are acceptable.

I can't remember if it was Thomas Jefferson or Benjamin Franklin, but one of those guys defined the word "religion" as:

A man's personal relationship with God.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Religion is entirely a personal matter.
