Definitely not. The essence of democracy is freedom - and the freedom to choose is one. If democracy is forced upon a country, then that is not democracy anymore - that would be contradicting the very idea of democracy itself.

I think the people would love a democracy in place of a dictatorship.
However, it's not democracy if its being forced upon. The last thing we want is another "crusades" on our hands.

Name one country that has had democracy 'forced' on it.
Hint: it is impossible to have a democracy without the people of the country voting for it. (For example: the Iraqi people voting for democracy in three different UN-certified elections.)

If you force anything on anyone at the barrel of a gun, sooner or later, they are going to rebel against it. Freedom and democracy need to be fought for, not forced upon.

Nope. It's hard to tell though with our extremely unfair media what countries actually want democracy and which ones don't. My hubbie fought in Iraq and I'm here to tell you about 60% of them people want us gone, but not because the don't want democracy, they just wanna take care of it themselves.

I don't think it is ever good to force anything (one exception might be small children) Adults can be encouraged, or shown that help is available if requested. Democracy is usually good but can be disabled by extremes ( as 911). after which we gave up our right and duty to discuss and criticize the President.

No. If a country wants our help, then let's give it to them, if they don't want our help, then let's stay away. So the big question is, does Iraq want our help?
