im not a believer but id like to know why god could not obey his own laws. it says thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife and mary was josephs wife. and why is it that he can cause mass death and get off without blame when if a person kills hes condemmned?

First of all - Mary wasn't Josephs wife until after she was pregnant, and second- are you trying to say God had sex with Mary? If you knew anything at all you would know that was not true at all. But - that is just like some people to make up their own story because they have no clue. And God does not cause mass death, we have free will and that is why people do what they do. God is not the one out there doing the killings. How dare you say that God committed these sins. Why don't you find fact before you just assume and make up things to believe. How could you blame God for people killing other people? That is more the work of Satan and not God. God is a loving, caring and forgiving God- but I wouldn't expect you to understand that, it seems you don't understand much.

I think I know what you mean.
Also, think about this. According to what I have been told, a person can give to charities, do voluntary work, and never seek any credit for either, they can be kind to others and never intentionally hurt another person, yet if they tell God hoe "great" he is, they will not get into Heaven. No chance.
But a person can be totally self-centered, look down on others, treat other people like crap, even rob, rape and kill, yet if they get on their knees and tell God he is "great" they have a one-way ticket to Heaven.
No, isn't having a major ego issue a flaw? And yet I have also been told God is "perfect".
I have also heard in church "the sins of the parents fall on the children". So, God punishes an innocent child for something their parents might have done even if the child has no control over it.
Look at the story of Noah's ark. He murdered innocent babies and children and animals with the flood.
And yet I have been told he is "kind".

God's purposes are not the same as mortal man's purposes. Yes, Mary delivered God's son and afterwards was Joseph's husband. That was a special case. Jesus needed to have Godly attributes in order to accomplish His mission as Savior. He could not do that without having godly attributes from His Father. As for biblical accounts of genocide, death is not the final solution we make it out to be. Life and death are in His hands, not ours. It is for Him to say when we are born, how we live and when and how we die. When we die, we merely go back to His realm to make an accounting of our lives. If He calls some of His children home prematurely, that is His prerogative. God has stated that He will forgive whom he will but it is for us to forgive all men. Likewise, He can take whom he will but it is not for us to do so. Again, you need to look on life with the eternal perspective. Then it makes sense.

It is wholly pointless trying to bring reason or logic into religion since religion is a fantasy world based on delusion. People swallow this nonsense because it gives them comfort to think someone cares about them (just like mommy and daddy did..) and that they can cheat death by going to heaven. The fact the religion is absurd does not deter people - they would rather stay like children and settle for a fairy tale than grow up and accept the world as it is.

you need to do more research before you go talking about things you have not fully read upon....
god did not covet josephs wife..he did not sleep with her..he was looking for a "pure" woman in "mind and heart" that would be worthy enough to carry jesus in her womb and raise jesus until he was old enough to start preaching gods laws and commandments....it had nothing to do with sex or lust ..he did not COVET mary ..she was a pure woman who WAS NOT MARRIED to joseph BEFORE god implanted jesus into her womb...SHE MARRIED JOSEPH AFTER SHE GAVE BIRTH TO JESUS...AND GOD SPOKE TO JOSEPH TO LET HIM KNOW WHAT HE HAD DONE AND WHY AND JOSEPH HAD FAITH AND BELIEVED IN GOD...which is why he still married Mary....
and GOD does not cause MASS DEATH ....IGNORANT HUMAN BEINGS CAUSE MASS DEATH, NATURAL DISASTERS CAUSED MASS DEATH, NOT GOD......GOD GAVE US THE POWER OF FREE WILL..AND PEOPLE HAVE USED THIS TO KILL OTHERS..YOUR USING IT RIGHT NOW IN BEING AN ATHEIST..ITS YOUR FREE WILL....IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD....

i have always wondered about this....for those people who believe we came from monkeys or a damn fish........WHO CREATED THE FISH? WHO CREATED THAT MONKEY?...it didnt just come from anywhere...someone had to create it or the live life sources for it to be born....we didnt just come from nothing we were created....
and this is my opinion because i DO believe in god....he is real whether you like it or not......

Sweetheat God did not covent Joseph's wife, Joseph was to take her as his wife. If God was to choose you to do something spectacular for Him would you not comply with his request??
We as humans kill off everything we consider bad (look in your own kitchen with the roches) we distroy them to keep it clean, I think God does the same. In the ark he saved man and beast but distroyed all that was evil. Imagine how much worst the world be if he didn't!!

God had her first. Joseph knew all about the situation, and even considered putting her aside, until God told him to raise His Son as a good Jew. As to His ability to kill, remember. God made you, and He can take you out just as easily! He has every right to do what He wants with what He made.

Mary wasn't Joseph's wife when she got pregnant with Jesus. Joseph married her anyway which was unheard of in that day and age.

Get your facts straight
Mary was not married at the time of conception.
Because when God "kills" it is a act of righteous judgement. I know you are going to ask about the babies. Guess what, the babies are safe in heaven. They got to go home early.
