See? And they say that nobody has ever changed their beliefs as a result of discussion on Y!A R&S... I know I have...

As it relates specifically to religion:

Recently, it occurred to me that Yahoo!Answers provides in a single location what took me many years of going from church to church to find out for myself.

These are the same comments & attitudes I discovered everywhere I went during my investigation of religion. Too bad we didn't have the Internet thirty years ago, it would have saved me much time & trouble.

But, I've known thousands of people in my lifetime, so it comes as no surprise to discover people are the same all over the world. Irrationality is far more common than it may appear.

Well, I had higher hopes from the "Religion and Spirituality", but it really surprised me how many nonsense goes around, if I ever needed a few examples of shameless idiotic fallacies, R&S is the place where I'll look for them. Yeah, it's changed my beliefs, I thought the vast majority of humans were capable of that. You've proved me wrong =(

Anyway, I still think "R&S" is not a representative sample to judge the entire YA! users population, even though, there are a few other categories that have a lot of nonsense as well, but this one beats them all.

It surprises me as well that, even if english is not my native language, I can spell better than many people who have english as their native language, man, that sucks (for them).

Nope. I'd heard and seen to much to belive humans were capable of rational thought before I came here. It just strengthened my belief,

Actually, Y!A, particularly R&S has proved the notion that most humans are incapable of rational thought.

It's made me significantly more cynical than when I started. Still, bitter and resigned is better than being lobotomized and socially bulimic.

I like all the differences people have. I really enjoy learning how people view things even if what I believe is the complete opposite. This place is like story time all the time. You can be constantly entertained. I'm not attached to what anyone else says or believes.

I discovered that in my own real word people actually understand what sarcasm is. I realize now how arrogant i was in assuming that it was normal that everybody understands sarcasm.

Rational thought? Well, i always explained election results in assuming that 90% of the voters must have been temporary insane. On Yahoo!Answers i learned to delete the word "temporary" from that sentence.

Gotta admit, I've come to understand that not everyone is graced with common sense. It was quite a shock actually, I'd thought you needed a little common sense just to exist, but apparently not only can you exist without common sense, you can use the computer.
