Yup, I turn 18 tomorow. I and my mother came to US 4-5 years ago, she got married to an retired marine (( 20 years in the service )). They are TOTALLY different from each other. What she allows me to do, he greatly disagrees. And visa versa. My mother has been VERY stressed out due to her ex husband, her parents, her very bad english, and her upcoming future. So...she is very jumpy: yelling at everyone, grumpy, everything is wrong for her. My stepdad --- he is just...nuts...
Anyhow -- to the point. I turn 18 tomorow, and I still got 1 year of school (( senior ... )) to do (( I will graduate before I turn 19 )). Well...I am just tired -- very much -- of my mom and stepdad. And I was told by others that I once turn 18 -- I can move out.

Is that possible? Can I move out without my parents stoping me? And such... I live in biloxi, Mississippi.

Please answer...I am very annoyed and ready to go.

Thanks,
Arciux

Yes, moving out is possible. But what about the right thing to do. If you finish high school, and stay for one more year. Then you will have a much better life. You will get better jobs, more money, and you can go to college. Think about what you are doing before you do it.

Yes. You can legally move out at age 18 anywhere in the US, because you are officially considered an adult. However, unless you have a job and/or a place to stay I would recommend you tough it out until you finish school. By the way, after you turn 18 they should let you do as you please.

once you turn 18 you are legally an adult and can do whatever you want. just remember the ramifications you may face and such. but to your answer, yes you can move out when you turn 18. you could've gotten emancipated before you turned 18 which makes you your own legal guardian but it's a more difficult process. Congratulations on your freedom!!

At 18 you're considered an adult. As an adult you can choose to move out, but the real world will snap you in to reality real fast! You should save up money find a dependable room mate and see how things go.

I asked that same question the 1st time I logged on here, about my daughter when she tuurns 18 next year.

the answers I got all said the same thing, "yes, 18 is the age of adulthood in every state in this country, and at that age you are considered an adult and with all privaleges and consequences that this entails.

best of luck to you.

Where would you move to? How are you going to afford to do that if you've still got one year of school left? Why don't you try talking to your parents before you decide to move out? Maybe your mom just needs someone to listen.

well, since you're annoyed and ready to leave the house you're living in. then i suggest maybe go to a college where it is TOO far to commute everyday to. college is a good reason to move out. maybe after 4 years of college, your situation at home will be different. hope that helps!

Yes you can move out. Could have left at 17 without interference.
