Us Christians don't mock you, and all we do is what we are supposed to do-spread His word.

I'm not one to mock non-believers, or prove them wrong.

I'm a Christian and I do mock others, after all they are totally wrong and don't even think about what they believe in. There are so many obviousnesses to Christianity.Remember that Christ was mocked. We're supposed to be mocked because it's all a part of following Him.

First of all, Christians DO mock non-believers. Just like any other group, there are going to be those bad apples that give the rest a bad name. Taunting people of other religions has been going on for a very long time, and probably isn't going to stop anytime soon. Be the bigger person (and follow Christ's teachings) by just turning the other cheek.

Not all Christians are the same. While you may do what you believe is the right thing; some Christians see the right thing to do is to ridicule anyone who disagrees with them. It's not just your religion. People are like that all around the world.
I'm not a Christian but I believe if we show enough love and forgiveness than maybe people would not mock us.

Well, maybe YOU don't mock Non's... but I have seen several who do and expect different treatment than what they give. Many have offered nothing but an offensive approach to Non's and come across as if they have "Authority"... but if they had such authority, why waste words with someone they obviously hate? ANd, I know... "Christians aren't supposed to hate"... but many of them do...and they use the Bible to justify it... then they look like a hypocrite... then they get mocked.

But the generalizations don't fit either way. "Us Christians"... really, you can only speak for yourself and not the whole group... because I know for a fact there are some out there who do this very thing....

Christians have degraded, enslaved, humiliated, raped, and murdered non-Christians for two thousand years; thus your premise that Christians do not "mock" non-Christians is hardly valid. As to why non-Christians would mock Christians, the answer in part lies in your statement: you spread your god's "word." Non-Christians choose to believe or not believe whatever they want. But, what they do NOT want is to be pestered by Christians. They do NOT appreciate or want to see you placing pamphlets in their mailbox nor preaching on street corners. Non-Christians get pretty tired of seeing the silly fish symbols you place on your cars; they get tired of all the giant crosses you plant by freeways and on hilltops. And, non-Christians are generally quite irate at all the public airwaves that get used up by you, just so you can broadcast your propaganda on TV and radio. Non-Christians are also quite livid at the way you have attempted to subvert the US Constitution to push through an extreme right-wing agenda that clearly is inadequate and counter-productive to the national interests. Any rational adult with a decent education and a relatively accurate assessment as to the nature of reality will probably not tolerate your attempts to foist your irrational thinking upon them.

I think it's mostly to get a rise out of us and then used some half baked ideology to prove us wrong. If a person is an atheist, simply let them be. I have a friend who is an atheist simply because that is the way he was brought up and he makes no attempts to mock me, but he did go to see the Passion with me a while back and asked sincere questions. People have to choose for themselves. But a lot of atheists feel they have something to prove, seeing that they are in the distinct minority. Therefore they will defend their religion without it ever being uder attack. (yes, atheism is a religion-organization of beliefs)

I'm astounded! Certainly the premise for humour must be factored into whatever musings one would have upon this question. I envision the day when the sparking between believer and atheist will be a splendid sit com, possibly one that could be franchised into the different sects and cults; oh it's just endless! Why I'm sure this must be the source of amazement for good folk on both sides and the middle of this eternal argument, it certainly allows for feelings one way or the other to be vented and declared, oh my yes! Regardless, I would not have my Christian Brethren be offended nor any other soul ( haha just had to slip that in there ) for that decision is theirs alone to make. Very amusing.

Christianity is not mocked by MUSLIMS because in the Quran it states that Christians are 'people of the book' and still believe in 1 god. For this reason muslims must respect your religion.

It is not so much that I mock Christians...just hypocrites. I have NEVER been to a church that how much your car is worth is not more important that your immortal soul. I do not mind Christians trying to spread the word. I just resent them trying to shove it down my throat. If you can take care of those points, I just might come back to church. I am not holding my breath.

Too many Christians are "up in your face" on their approach to spread the love of God. I think a lot of non-believers are turned off by Christians who condemn them and call them "sinners". A lot of Christians forget (or refuse to believe) that they too are sinners and fall short of God's glory. I sometimes cringe when I hear people on street corners or in the mall yelling to the masses that they are sinners and condemning them to Hell unless they change. That's not going to save anyone. If anything it's only pushing people further away from God. When you think of Christians who act like that it's easy to understand why we are mocked.
