ardglass is pretty popular.To the south you could fish Greenore Strand (Near Carlingford) from low tide up. A lob of 50-60 yards is all that is needed to put you in quite deep water and will put you among some decent Dab, small Pollock, dogfish and maybe a codling. I've taken a lot of Bass here on Plugs and fly.

Just being in Ireland is going to be way cool, I'm sure if you ask a local they'd be really cool about telling you a great place.

county cavan has lots of fishing- we stayed in a placxe called milltown where there is a nice B&B where lots of fisherman stay.
There are also lots of interesting places to see round about.
