Is it a motivation for us to believe in God? Since heaven is a perfect place, wouldn't heaven be a selfish reward to give us?

Heaven is where God and his faithful spirit family dwell. It's also the seat of God's Kingdom (government), from which Christ and chosen, faithful ones from the earth will soon rule over the earth to benefit all mankind. He also has a marvelous family of obedient sons in the heavens. These are not creatures of blood and flesh, for they were created before our earth was created upon which we creatures of blood and flesh now live. So those heavenly “sons of God” are spirit, as God himself is, and they are absolutely distinct in nature from us earthly human creatures.

However, God created man from the earth to live on the earth. He did not create humans to live for a little while here on earth then go to live in heaven.

Although we all grow old and die now because of Adam and Eve's rebellion,God’s original purpose for the earth will still be fulfilled. In the beginning it was God’s purpose for obedient humans to live forever in an earthly Paradise. And God never fails to accomplish what he purposes! His Word plainly promises: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Psalm 37:29.

We have the very real hope of the resurrection and the opportunity to live forever in paradise here on the earth. The Bible tells how Jehovah will bring this about.

Actually the thought of burning in hell for eternity is a bigger motivator for me to believe in God. Heaven is a perfect place where God dwells and is the reward given to those God feels are deserving. The mistake most people make is to put human traits like selfishness on God. God is way out of our league. We could not possibly understand His complexity, love, grace etc. He is the Creator. He has every right to be anything he wants.

Heaven is simply the full awareness of the presence of God. If a sinful creature was to experience the full presence of God, it would be painful (like Hell). Is being in the presence of God a reward or punishment? It depends on whether you like each other.

As for your second question, I think that you are confusing "selfishness" with legitimate self-interest. By your definition, eating or breathing is "selfish" becaue it is good for you.

There is a heaven for the same reason these is a god, or indeed a whole bunch of gods - it gives people comfort to believe in fairy tales. Heaven is perfect except for one minor detail - it doesn't exist.

No one really knows if there is a Heaven or not, its wishful thinking that we get a reward for having morals and such. I don't really care. Be good or be bad, we're all worm food in the end.

The final state of Heaven is the objective of God in Creation. It is God's intention to be glorified in creation, and Heaven is the ultimate and final step in that goal.

God created heaven and hell. Heaven is the perfect place for all His children who obey and love him. This is our home to come when Christ returns to gather all who love Him.

why shouldn't we have a heaven..its a place of reward for serving Jesus and having him in our heart and loving him for what he has done for us and because he loved us that much he died for us...Jesus was sent so we can go to heaven we aren't good enough for heaven at all because of sin . so when Jesus died on the cross he helped the world to be able to live in perfect peace in heaven. so if we choose Jesus as our personal savior and live for him and love him you will be able to go to heaven. plus would you want to be with your loved ones that also excepted jesus....people who dont except HIM will parrish and live in hell with all the others who reject jesus
