Is the Bible and Jesus – a fairy tale story? While I can tell you that there is historical evidence and numerous eye whiteness testimony on the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus the Christ , I can also tell you that even with all that - a person still might not believe because you have to combine it with faith. Faith is a gift from God because he is saving you.
I can tell you that you are alive. But you might not believe it. I can prick your finger and tell you that alive people bleed. But you might not believe it.
Even Jesus himself eluded to the fact that a person can see someone raised from the dead and still not believe.
Christianity is not based on Logic. It is not based on human wisdom. In fact in our natural state, we think the whole thing is foolish. God chooses us first. He changes the disposition of our heart and gives us new desires (to follow him).
Jesus spoke of hell more than anything. He says we are already condemned. We are dead men walking – waiting for the execution of sentence. If this is true, we all owe it to ourselves to consider these things because the consequences are eternal.
The God that created the world and everything in it, the God that created the endless universe, took on flesh and came to his earth to die. Why? Do do something for you that you can not do on your own.
God demands a righteous justice. We all have violated his laws. He, being our creator, has the right to impose these laws on humanity. He gives his laws to protect us - not be be some cosmic kill joy. Because when we viloate his laws, we suffer. But, we want to be self ruling and seek our own ways.
We violate his standards. Ever told a lie? Ever stolen anything? Ever look at person lustfully? Ever hate someone? Have you been envious of someone else? These are examples of how we "sin" against the God that gives us life, breath and everything else.
We can't even take our next breath without him. How many beautiful days do we just take for granted? Do we ever thank God and give him Glory? No.
Do we thank him for our health, our jobs, our families? No.
Therefore, we are already condemened for breaking his laws. We can not save ourselves because we are slaves to our sin. We can not stop sinning. We can not give up our adultery, our Pornography, our deceit, our lying. It is utterly futile to think we can keep his laws and earn our salvation. We can't, no matter how hard we all try - we still sin.
So, we are all guilty before God.
This is why Jesus came. To save us from condemnation, the penalty for our sins against God. We are all guilty before a Holy God. God demands satisfaction. Just like in civil law. You speed down the highway at 100 mph, you break the speed limit. There is a consequence in breaking the speed limit. The Police will give you a ticket, you will pay a fine and perhaps even go to jail.
In the same way, there are conseqences to disobeying God. We know what we should do. We don't necessarily need a Bible. I know its wrong to take something that does not belong to me, or to cheat on my spouse. But, sometimes we supress what we know is right. We selfishly pursue our own desires apart from God's. We sin.
So, we deserve the punishment Jesus indured. But he took our place. He was our substitute. He took upon himself our sins and payed our debt to God by the sheeding of his blood and death. He took upon himself the wrath of God's judgement upon himself. In a miraculous exhange he gets our sin - we receive his rightousness.
There will be a judgment day. The hammer is going to fall.
For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
God is asking you to repent, turn from your sins and believe what he did for you buy sending his son, for it it we have eternal life and the forgiveness of sin. He wants to spare you from wrath. He wants to spare you from an eternity in Hell.
Jesus is the stairway to heaven. I pray God will give you insight into these things.

Hey Beautiful,
I used to, but not anymore. If Jesus had to die in order for our sins to be forgiven, then God is no better than Baal. Also, how did He grant forgiveness to the adulteress before His sacrifice? We have gotten way off track from what He came to tell us. He came to preach the Kingdom of God. He also taught that the Kingdom is within us. We enter the Kingdom when we choose to do the will of God forever. At that time, He becomes your King, and you have entered the Kingdom, as a citizen, and as an adopted member of the King's family. Pretty neat, Huh?
You don't even have to give any money to any scribes and pharisees, or even preachers. Remember what is important. Jesus died, and rose again, to prove that He has the power to lay down life, and to take it back again. That includes your life. If you choose to make God the Source of Authority in your life, He will preserve your life forever. He loves you, and does not want to lose you.

I do not believe that Jesus died for us. Being an Atheist, I believe that he died for voilating the laws of the Roman Empire. His death was due to the fact that he stood up for his rights as a free man. This is why, to me, Jesus was a great man. He championed freedom of belief. The rest, from my point of view, is exaggeration and the twisting of truth to perpetuate the Bible, which is a tool of suppression and actually violates the rights that he died for.

No, i don't believe he died at all. Unless this question is about Jesus Christ in the way people ask questions about Darth Vader, in actual fact Jesus didn't die for us because he is a literary creation.

Who cares? Super Mario died for me hundreds of times!
And Jesus never killed Bowser or saved a princess either.

Not at all. If any of that is true, then JC's father is the most murderous being in all of human history. It would make Mary the adulterous mother of an illegitimate child.
