You can tell them that you appreciate their service but you have found someone that is closer to your home or work, which will allow you to be home sooner. If you are switching because you are upset about how the daycare provider has handle something, then just confront them and maybe it could be resolved some how. The truth sometimes is the best.

I work at a daycare and really in my opinion, it's not a big deal when a kids switches. I mean people will miss the kid for sure but what I am saying is that it probably won't hurt anyone's feelings. As long as you are honest and just tell them the reason why you are leaving. I have learned that if it is because of a negative reason then you should begin the conversation on a positive note....say the negative thing in an polite way and then end on a positive note. That helps to lighten the blow. Good luck switching providers/

When I switched my daycare provider, I just told them that I found a new daycare that I think my child would like better. In fact, the old daycare sucked!

You tell them "I am sorry, but because of (whatever reason you are changing) my children will start going to a new daycare." They should be okay with it as long as you don't owe them money and you give them plenty of notice. If they have been in the daycare business for any length of time, they should be used to kids leaving.

You're not breaking up with a girlfriend, it's a decision for the best interest of your child.

You tell the school that you've made other arrangements for the care of your child. Thank them for the job that they've done up to that point, and then you go.

They run a business. For all you know you've just opened up a spot so they can charge more for the next kid and make more money.

Funny you asked, I just had to do it last week. It was hard, but she wasn't giving my daughter the best care. I decided to have someone come to my home, it only is costing me $ 100.00 more per month, but it's worth it. You need to just talk to her or him and if you feel better about it, a little white lie might do. Maybe the daycare is closer to your home or work ? or tell them it's less expensive. something like that. Good Luck ,but like I mentioned you might want to look into a nanny coming to your home, maybe a college student ??

Be honest. It may a situation that they are unaware of. If it needs to be fixed then help them to become aware of the problem. If it is something that they are aware of and it is detramental to other children then you may to report them.
