There are many ways to go. The random way involving a substantial hit from an asteroid or a meteor. Closer to home an eruption from a super volcano like Yellowstone. There is a number of ways and all are unpredictable. Then we have man made like global warming, poisoning the oceans, starvation, freezing. These are semi predictable and we can actually do something about them. There there are the sure things but long term very long term. We will lose our moon in a few 100million years. This is bad news as the tides will stop the earth will lose its tilt which gives us the 4 seasons and to top it off the earth will start to wobble thus having a totally random and unpredictable climate. It will be very hard to survive such conditions. And then there is the matter of the sun. It will bloat out-during its red giant phase and will engulf most of the inner solar system including the earth. The surface will have been frying for at least half a billion years before the earth gets swallowed up by our expanding sun. We had best have gotten off a hell of a lot earlier if we are still around

The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Saviour's coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will die. The almost complete fulfillment of most lines of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ's coming is imminent. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we are therefore exhorted to be ready at all times. (Titus 2:13; Heb. 9:28; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:9-11; Matt. 24:14; Rev. 1:7; Matt. 24:43, 44; 1 Thess. 4:13-18; 1 Cor. 15:51-54; 2 Thess. 1:7-10; 2:8; Rev. 14:14-20; 19:11-21; Matt. 24; Mark 13; Luke 21; 2 Tim. 3:1-5; 1 Thess. 5:1-6.)

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.

-Robert Frost, 1920

This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper

as it said in Qoran, the holly book of we muslims, when our imam MAHDI, and christians prophet,Jesus ,they will destroy all bad and evilish things and everyone ,all the good ppl will have a great and happy life then the end of the world will start (according to Qoran):
the sun will go dark and all the stars as well, the mountains will fall down,a big earthquake will happen....everyone will be highly scared that even a mther forgets her own baby and all the dead will come back to life again....
and thats how the world ends.
then we all go to God to answer for the things we have done!

Hello,
Well my own personal world will end whenever my time is up...
And then i will move to Saturn and build a huge resort for everyone to swing by and have the best time of their next existence...
And everything will be free...

It is explained by Islam professors in detail. I do not want to live that time. If you want I may write it in detail.
But what we must think is how will be our end. The end of the world for us is our death. We should think about it.

Eventually our Sun, which is a star, will heat up burning everything, then it will turn cold as it dies and the earth will once again be encased in ice-not a nice scenario but won't happen for billions of years.

The book of Revelation says it rather plainly when it states, "....the elements will MELT WITH FERVENT HEAT." Sound familiar, David?
