With your knees bent on your back, simply bring your head towards your knees. Do not pull your head with your hands... use your stomach muscles. This is called a crunch. In order for me to really see results, I had to use a device found in some gyms which worked the side abdominal muscles or obliques. I called it a torso twister but I am not sure this is the brand name. It required you to sit and place your chest against a rotating padded bar. The bar would then be rotated from 90 degrees to to directly ahead. Tension could be changed using weights. You would do this for each side. This device if used regularly will flatten out your stomach.
