Why do some atheists feel that Christianity is used to "enslave" people when it has nothing to do with anything of the sort?

We have freedom. We are free to choose to follow Christ or not. It's a choice, not a requirement. That's why you have the choice to choose Heaven or Hell based on how you CHOOSE to live your life.

They only want to live and do the things that please them. They do not want to have anybody tell them what is right or wrong. Therefore Jesus and the Bible are their enemies, because they point out the sin in their lives and hearts, they resist the freedom that is offered and choose the bondage of sin, calling good evil and evil good.

you are a slave to christ for following the bible you have no real freedom to become enlighten you are assuming sins that may or may not exist to begin with. you are also enslaved by fear and guilt to your god why do you say you are free when you fear things? think that over a while and get back to me ok.

All religion enslaves the mind. If you are unable to question your beliefs, then the beliefs do not belong to you, rather, you belong to your beliefs. You are unable to be as good as your religion requires you to be, and yet you are unable believe anything else. You are a slave to your faith, and I am free.

But your religion, and Jesus himself, supports slavery. As well, your church leaders are trying to destroy democracy in the US by telling their followers to vote Republican or go to hell......

Reading their replies to Christian questions would cause me to think they are filled with anger and can not or will not see beyond their anger.
