There ARE certain treats you can get for your cat to help with the hairballs. Go to Wal-Mart and look at all the kitty medications, I'm sure there will be SOMETHING there to help. If none of the things you try at home work, then it's definitely time to take your cat to the vet. There COULD be a much bigger problem than just a hairball. If your cat is a long hair or if it's shedding alot, I recommend brushing the coat often to reduce the intake of hair when they clean themselves.

Hartz makes a tube of Hairball Remedy. My vet also sells something called Cat Lax. The cats don't like it and it can sometimes be a struggle to get it in their mouths, but it works!

How long has it been since your cat was to the vet? You may want to take him to get looked at. He may have an underlying physical condition you are unaware of. Hairballs can become a serious problem. Take your pet to the vet soon. You won't regret it.
Good luck to you and your cat and I hope he is feeling better!

A hairball remedy like the one by Hartz is good. Also make sure you're grooming him regularly. If you cut down on the loose hair that he's ingesting when he's grooming himself, he'll have fewer hairballs.

I give my cat "Malt Kisses" and they help.
You should also make sure your cat has access to grass (the legal kind) to eat as this can help them sick up what's bothering them.
