If there weren't a provision against it in the Ten Commandments, they'd do it for us.

yea, you do have cool questions.
The big flood covered the entire earth..., this, God promised would never happen again. Later prophesies tell of storms like you won't believe... like Katrina (not as bad as the first storm, many believe it was the first time it ever rained. Before the flood there was enough water in the air that plants didn't need it to rain. That was why the plants were so big in the ancient times and why humans became so old... it's a theory anyway.
The reason for the storms now. Their birth pains. .
You look like someone who loves to ask questions AND FIND ANSWERS. some people just like asking questions. You should try to get e-sword. You'd really enjoy it!
God also warns that the end of days would be terrible for all people. Especially Christians. If someone thinks it was to smite atheists they really don't understand God's heart.

I am a Christian. I do not think anyone, Atheist or not, should kill themselves. That is a sin you can never get forgiveness for. I believe, like the Bible says, that EVERYONE will have the opportunity to be saved. If you, as an Athiest, chose not to believe after you have been given the chance, the choice is your own. They'll be no one to blame but yourselves when the rapture happens and you are left behind.
As far as Katrina goes, I can not say why Katrina caused the devistation it did. It was a horrible, horrible thing. It did not destroy the Earth , maybe it woke some people up. All things happen for a reason.
Freedom of choice I believe in.....hope you make the right ones.

I am surprised that you of all people wrote this question because I have read other questions by you that was thought provoking but this question is way off based and highly exaggerated. I am tired of people depicting all Christians as people who go around judging others like they don't have anything else to do. I myself am a Christian and don't judge anyone because I was told as a Christian not to judge therefore I don't do it. I know people who are atheists and don't get on their back about it because everyone has the right to live the way they want to as long as they are not hurting themselves or others. I choose Christianity others may choose another religion or become an atheists, and I for one would want someone to respect my choice just as well as I will respect theirs. I do have a life and I would be a hypocrite if I would tell someone to commit suicide which in my religion is a sin according to the Bible. I try to spread the word but if a person don't want to make that choice, then you can't force anything down person's throat because that is not how I would want to be treated. In the example you gave, I never said it was God's will that Katrina happened. The death of so many in my opinion was the failure of the government to take action when they knew that Katrina was headed for New Orleans.

I do not believe in suicide! Suicide is murdering oneself. Murder can be forgiven, but how can you be forigiven of a sin when in death you have no opportunity to ask forgiveness? Any so-called Christian that believes that God sent Katrina to punish New Orleans must be forgetting that undoubtedly man God-fearing Christian souls lost their lives too! What reason would God have for "punishing" them through Katrina? Besides, God was speaking of THE ENTIRE PLANET never again being destroyed by flood, not just a select area. The ENTIRE PLANET was deluged in the Flood, and the rainbow God set in the sky afterward was the mark of His new covenant with Noah in which the aforementioned promise was made.

Any freak who thinks Katrina was sent to punish the "ungodly" don't know what the **** they are talking about. People say this **** so they can justify their beliefs and push them on others. I am a Christian, but I don't believe that God sent anything to destroy the ungodly. Also, being and Atheist doesn't mean you should commit suicide; if you believe that there is nothing after death, then you should enjoy life now, because once you die, there will be nothing.

No one should commit suicide.
Atheist are not the only walking dead. There are many people who call themselves Christian that are in this category also! It is not enough to call your self a Christian, but to trust Him for your salvation, and to work with Him in asking for His help in changing our ways, to do the things that He wants, and to receive the blessings He has promised.
Maybe Katrina and New Orleans were punishments from God, but He kept His promise, for He promised for not ALL the earth was destroyed.

Christians, true Christians, if they have read their bible at all, know that the thief (otherwise known as the devil) comes to kill, steal, and destroy, not God. ANYONE who says God kills or the Lord giveth and the lord taketh away, does not know Jesus! Jesus cam to give us life, and life more abundantly. God said HIS people parish for lack of knowledge. No true follower of Christ would want anybody to kill themselves. We, like God, want people to "die" to their sin full nature, and stop being so ignorant, selfish and stubborn. Realize they have a purpose greater than serving themselves and live for that purpose. And by-the-way, any true atheist would not quote the bible, know the bible or talk about God, because they are deceived into believing he doesn't exist!

Jim, If the Christians sacrifice themselves there will be no need for rapture.Think of all the cars and houses we'll own.
I have a life now. Sitting in the clouds praising Jesus for eternity would be like watching reruns of saved by the bell to me. Creepy!
Remember what I said about the comedy writing itself. Your shooting fish in a barrel. You're getting serious answers already and having a laugh with your morning cup of java.

I don't want you to commit suicide and neither does God. If you die without salvation you have no hope of spending eternity in heaven. If you realy want to know the truth read the rest, don't just stop @ Gen. 9:11. Or just keep making jokes. It's your eternity.

How long have you been an atheist? I want to share this website with you. There is a documentary video about death experiences. This is a website about hell but just to make it clear with you, I'm not one of those Christians that tell everyone they are going to hell.
I just thought you might be interested in seeing the testimonies of real atheists who had real death experiences.
