First of all, good luck with your marriage!

Now on to your question.

You go through the Rite of Confirmation to join the Catholic Church. Talk to your local pastor and he will walk you through the steps. Because of your age (I am assuming that you are past high school), you would go through RCIA which generally takes about a year to complete. Membership in the Church is not automatic, you have to mean it and the priest has to believe you mean it. The Church is not a Sunday coffee club, though many people in America treat it that way.

I have a particular passion about the Church, so I always tell people that the Church is a way of life and you will get out of it as much as you are willing to put in. There are some fantastic and outstanding depths to the Faith, as well as a real sense of humanity and realism.

Let me suggest that you have the following books on hand

Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church by Libreria Editrice Vaticana (Paperback - Mar 31, 2006)

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (which is a bit dense)
or
Catholic Christianity: A Complete Catechism of Catholic Beliefs Based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church (Paperback)
by Peter Kreeft (which is very good especially if you are from a Protestant background, or question the Church in light of Protestantism)

If you are looking for specific book recommendations to suit your interests, feel free to contact me.

God bless, and welcome back.

You are already Baptized. And even though you haven't been confirmed, you can still have a Sacramental wedding. You are still 100% Catholic. The only thing you need to do to join the church, is to start attending one! It's that easy. Register with the church by calling the rectory.

You can be confirmed to the church by attending RCIA but you don't HAVE to do it before you get married. But it is a nice thing to do.

Good luck!

You are already a member of the Catholic church. Decide on a parish you want to join, and talk to the pastor about getting Confirmed, and about your absence from the Church. Best wishes and prayers to you.

Call your local parish, ask to register in the parish, ask about Confirmation classes, and come to church on Sundays.

Welcome home.

With love in Christ.
