1 Timothy 4:
1 But the Spirit says expressly that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
2 through the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;
3 forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
Probably you should follow the Bible and do not follow religions that do not practice what the Bible teaches and shuns what the Bible warns against.

well whatever religion you are is not a very nice one it seems. You should have a relationship and not so much religion with the Lord and pray to him to help guide you and i promise as long as you follow what the Lord says you will go far. good luck

Incidentally you didn't mention your religion which makes the situation a bit difficult to assess thoroughly. However, the best religion is 'love'. The two of you should be able o work something out without betraying your individual conscience and your individual faith.

do what you want. If the other members of your religion give you a hard time, tell them you are getting him to convert. If he loves you he will play along to please you, maybe. But, keep in mind that overly religious people often look nutty to those who aren't. So, be prepared, when he finds out how serious you are about your faith, it might scare him away.

hmm...you love him...and he loves you...the paradox is your RELIGION will NOT allow you to marry or be together?
Is this 2006 or is this 2054 BC?
Seriously if you allow Religion to make your choices you will live a sad and lonely life.

If you're young, why not try dating? Not every relationship leads to marriage.
If you strongly believe that marriage is a possibility... then try being friends and have it as a "could have, but never was".
