I'm always thirsty, but can never find anything to appease my thirst, this morning I woke up... Severely craving water, and drinking it like it was going out of style, I know that alcohol makes you dehydrated, and I did have a couple beers last night... does your body know and subconciously make you crave water?

Yes, but excessive thirst may mean other things beside dehydration.

The #1 that comes to mind is diabetes. Also kidney malfunctions may make one crave water.

I highly suggest you contact your doctor for a complete checkup.

Also, if diabetes is in your family history, you may wish to check out www.hufa.org for basic information on blood sugar imbalances of all types, and their symptoms and causes.

I know this sounds dumb but when your urine is dark then you are dehydrated and you need to drink more water.

well at times not really especially if the dehydration is very abrubt or immediate that your body has not yet properly assessed your condition.
