I always used to thing that other people made me happy or unhappy, e.g. if things were going well with my boyfriend. But I've started to realise over the last few months that 1. you can't control other people or change them and 2. only you have the power to make yourself happy. It sounds a bit poncy but it's so true - if you rely on other people your not thinking for yourself, or taking responsibility for your own happiness. Things/people can make life brighter, e.g. a new car, or new relationship, but only you can be responsible for how you feel... so if you're not happy at the mo, think about what you want to change and you can make it happen. But if it's someone else dragging you down, you can't change that, but you can change yourself and how you deal with it.

I read a wicked book recently called light up your life by Diana cooper, it's really insightful.

Anyway, I wish you happiness!

Tricky one !
Everyone has their own theory.
I learnt years ago that it doesn't matter what you have (a lot or nothing) you need to be adaptable as there is always someone out there more unfortunate that you .
Also happiness as such it doesn't exist , you have moments of happiness but not all the time unless you are in a high..
Moments of peace with your self and your life , have you realised that when you are in a good mood everything is easier and things usually go well ? and also if you feel miserable it seems that life only remains you how unlucky you are?
Avoid negative situations and people they will only take your energy away

It's a choice I'm afraid, which I know sounds much easier than it is. Choose 2 c each obstacle as a chance 2 grow, & choose 2 c the good in everything. Choose 2 love others above yourself, and God above others - He can give u joy, which means far more than happiness. 2 b pedantuc, happiness is actually dependent on ur circumstances, & means little. Joy is much deeper & isn't dependent on circumstances. THAT'S what u really want xx

Like a lot of questions to do with emotion the answer is beyond simple. How to be happy? Just be happy.

Nothing in the world has the ability to make you feel, only you do. If you can realise this, it's the first step to controlling your life.

when you wake up in the morning... tell yourself.. "I will be happy today"

during the day... when you find yourself not happy... tell yourself "I will be happy now"

you always have a choice... you can be a grouch.. or you can be happy... ok.. there are times when perhaps you should not show that you are happy... like at the funeral of your worst enemy.. but most of the time.. you can at least appear to be happy... you will make the world better for those around you too!

I self-define happiness as "the absence of frustration" and contentment as "being ok with the level of frustration I have".

If I then find moments, or hours, or days without frustration, then I consider myself happy.

Look at what you do have and not at what you don't have. It all boils down to the tree of life in the garden of Eden.http://alt.cimedia.com/statesman/specialreports/jacqui/jacqui.pdf#search='Jacqueline%20Saburido' Now you can at least be happy that isn't you right?May GOD Bless You.

Simple Formula to be happy.

Whatever you want to do + time doing it = happy

It's all in the mind. Happiness is part chemical and part attitude.

Just do whatever you want that doesn't feel painful.

I hope I helped.
