I'm going to be there alone on my last day there. My friends are heading back on Sunday. So on Monday I have most of the day to myself. Any suggestions? I'm leaving for LAX in about 45 minutes!!!

The hotel is booked only thru Sunday. So I'll need to stay somewhere else on Sunday night. My friends say I could even sleep on Waikiki beach--but is that safe??? (''/)

Hello, I recommend you to stay at
Waikiki Beachside Hostel
2556 Lemon Road
Honolulu, HI 96815
Ph. 808.923.9566
Toll free 866.478.3888
www.waikikibeachsidehostel.com

Personally I stayed there for 1 week, everything was clean and neat, it has a great location, 1 block from Kalakahua St. (the main street in the waikiki area), when you have to go to the airport, it has a shuttle bus for $5 or $10 bucks (not remmember well)
Cheers!!! and enjoy your trip, do no miss to go to the Flea Market at the Aloha Stadium on wednesdays or sundays, great souvenirs at cheap prices.

You could sleep on Waikiki Beach but I don't recommend it.

Check out Twizi! they list places to stay that cost less than 25 dollars a night all over Hawaii. And also some tips about getting around. To get contact info for hostels in Hawaii check out AlohaHostels.com. I suggest the Polynesian Beach hostel, they are the cheapest. A note on the answer above... The Banana Bungalow closed a couple of years ago. The only Banana Bungalow in Hawaii is on Maui. The links below should get you started hope it helps and have a great trip!
