The sad fact is that all religions demand the right to their freedom of expression and freedom to worship but then seek to force their opinions on others. All of them seem to see their religion as the one and only one and all seem to think themselves holier than thou. Anyone who does not support their beliefs is a target and wo betide you if you are an atheist!!!!

Without religion most of the wars would not have happened.

What happened to the desire for peace in the world? Are atheists and agnostics the only ones who believe in it?

That's a little over-general, isn't it?

Anything that spells out a difference divides. Education versus uneducation. Rich versus poor. Thinking versus feeling. North versus South. Technology versus arts. Old versus young. Men versus women.

Does that mean that education is wrong? Wealth? Geographical regions? Gender? Age? Tech/Arts?

I would really call this "diversity," which in itself is a good thing. We are not clones. And when we are unique, we can each bring something new to the table. We should be synthesizing perspectives, learning something new from others.

The problem isn't the diversity or the different approaches to beliefs (although, yes, sometimes people can have beliefs that many will perceive as immoral).

The problem is our lack of love for each other as we share our beliefs -- of deciding that we already have a total handle on everything and that no one else's perspective can contribute anything at all.

The problem is reducing another human being to his/her ideology rather than treating them as living breathing people with as much right to life and freedom as ourselves, no matter their beliefs.

Diversity either strengthens us and helps us grow, or it makes us into enemies so that we want to destroy each other.

The need to destroy what is "Not Us" is what I see as inhuman -- very much so.

Religion is man made and any thing man makes is subjected to speculation and even ridicule.
However, one must aspire to be the best in whatever he believes in and knowing that God is part of everyone, he should learn to respect and show regard for other beliefs.

Know this that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, so when someone tries to force religion on you, sometime down the road it is going to create the reaction as is whats happening in the world today.

Its human nature to make divisions between each other and i feel that religions encourage that behavior in to our world, but i also believe that there is a good that comes from believing in a religion , there is so many people that follow there religion regardless of which one it is , and it does better them and guide them to a better life.
I think that having a religion to follow or guide us through or life is a good thing but following it religiously that it will take over your life and your way of thinking is completely wrong.

After all God did give us brains to think before we take an action

As long as Humanity enjoys free will &
as long as what between Black and White is infinite grey shades & as long as the all eyes can see the same thing, yet what behind it interpret differently& as long as people do not utilize God given talents in the way God advised, inhumanity shall still be a dream that is not coming true yet.

Yet, let us appreciate that differences carry a value in itself as the other is our means to know ourselves.

Humans are by nature divisive. If we weren't so judgmental and quarrelsome, we'd just breed indiscriminately like any other animal lacking any mechanism to keep the population in check... and you can imagine what THAT would do to humankind. By our divisiveness, we humans maintain quality of the species.
