romantic should be romantic for the both of you. meaning: no hassle preparation, no cooking unless you are a good cook and sure that you wont come up with anything burnt. it also depends on where you are staying. do you have an option for a vacation in a beach area? are you even anywhere near a grassy hill? or are you simply planning a romantic bfast at home? we need such info from you to give you a good suggestion.
if you're home and if you're not a cook, i'd suggest the softest croissant you can find in the neighborhood (buy the day before and just reheat-- nothing fun about rushing out first thing in the morning); have an assortment of jams in small bottles ready; cream cheese; fruits; juice; and coffee afterwards. dont forget her favorite flowers, (bought the day before and kept in a vase of water, ready for breakfast *wink wink*) if you dont know her faves, pink roses should do it.
prepare a small table in the balcony. (inside the bedroom if there's no balcony. on a breakfast tray if there's no space for a table) my bf's sister prepared a table right inside our room, and i got a romantic welcome the minute i arrived from another country. it was so simple but laden with the essentials.
but really, what made it romantic was not the food itself. it was the caring thought that people go out of their way to make something special.
it is the wake up kiss that starts it right. the sweet moments BEFORE the breakfast. and then the sharing of food afterwards becomes more special, whether its on a a tray, on a table at the balcony, or out on top of a hill somewhere with great view.
when you're in love and happy, some things can be overlooked. like the toaster can be on stand by if you want to really eat hot bread. it wont look nice to have a toaster in sight but if you're comfy with each other anyways, it doesnt really matter. what matters in a romantic breakfast is not just the romantic look-- it's the romance between two people: the easy, comfortable and happy feeling of being with each other at that moment that makes it awesome.
bon appetit!

Pâte à Crêpes à la Vanille
Vanilla Flavored Crêpes ~ Blender Method
INGREDIENTS:
1-1/2 cups whole milk
2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon rum, brandy or other liqueur
3 large egg yolks
2 Tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 cups sifted, unbleached, all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
5 Tablespoons melted unsalted butter
vegetable oil for brushing on the pan
PREPARATION:
1. Place the milk, vanilla extract and rum in the blender. Add the yolks, sugar, salt, then the flour. Finally, add the butter and blend on high speed 30 seconds.
2. Scrape down the sides of the blender and blend on high speed 30 seconds more.
Pour into an airtight container and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
At this point, it can also be covered and refrigerated for up to 1 day. Bring it to room temperature before continuing with recipe.
3. Heat an 8" crêpe pan or skillet over med-high heat. Sprinkle a few drops of water on the pan; if they sizzle, the pan is ready to use. Brush with a little vegetable oil.
4. Using a 1/4 cup measure, fill it with batter and pour it into the skillet. Immediately pick up the pan and tilt and swirl it so that the batter covers the entire bottom of the pan. Pour any excess batter back into the bowl.
5. Loosen the edges of the crêpe with a metal spatula. You can use a spatula to turn the crêpe, but I usually, turn it with my fingers. Using both hands, I pick up the loosened edges with my thumb and index finger and quickly flip it over.
6. Cook on the other side until lightly golden (usually less than a minute) and slide it out onto a plate. Cover with waxed paper. Repeat with the remaining batter.
To serve:
These crêpes may be filled with many different fillings, such as jam, sprinkled with a little sugar or perhaps various fruits. A favorite filling in France is Nutella. Use your imagination and a few of your favorite ingredients to develop your own favorites.

Well you could take her out to a restaurant or cook something she like. Eggs Benedict is good and not to hard to make but will look like you tyred hard to make a nice breakfast. All you need is English muffins (toasted) 2 poached eggs each, 4 slices of ham, and a package of hollendase sauce(not sure of the spelling on that) from the grocery store, that only takes butter and water to make in a sauce pan in 10-15 minutes. then you layer it on the muffin starting with the ham, egg and hallindase suace. Have fresh fruit cut up with it and chmpain with orange juice. You can also find the recepy on line too. Good luck Oh some flowers would be nice - even just one rose.

Depends on the setting...
To me a perfect romantic breakfast would be...spending the night at a hotel on the beach somewhere. Have a great evening. Then the next morning before she wakes up order room service (or if none...run out and get something). Have the breakfast set and ready on the balcony with fresh fruit...juices....muffins...etc. Have a nice flower if available on the table also. Then wake her up.

Stuffed french toast for two...
-Get two already made crossants from a bakery or coffee shop. Slice in half and sit out over night.
-Make french toast dip like normal: milk, egg, cinnamon and a splash of vanilla.
-Spread cream cheeze on one side of each crossant and spread strawberry preserves on the other side.
-Close crossants and dip entire thing into the french toast mixture.
-Place in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for roughly 10 minutes a side. Sometimes it will not take as long, but you can eye it based on how the crossant looks. Once the crossant is a golden brown, it is done.
-Cut fresh strawberries and sprinkle powder sugar on top. You can get some strawberry syrup if you want some extra flavor.
This breakfast is awesome, and easy to make. If you do not like strawberries, you can substitute almost any fruit. I also like apricot and peach.

The night before: clean the house, prep for easy breakfast (1/2 papaya with fresh lime, croissant, beverage of choice), select your music, etc. Prep the bathroom with soft towels, scented soap and candles.
In the morning: assuming your friend has spent the night, send him/her for a shower or bath. Set table with cloth napkins and a flower, then assemble breakfast. As your friend exits the bath, greet him/her with towels warmed in the dryer. Proceed to the breakfast. If you're having champagne, don't forget a nice toast to your guest. Have a nice time!

There is no such thing as romantic breakfast meat.
Stick with pastries and fruit. Also, try tea instead of coffee. No one wants to get busy with someone with coffee breath. Since that is the goal of the breakfast...

Chocolate Stuffed Heart-Shaped French Toast with Raspberry Sauce
Recipe courtesy of Gourmet Magazine
Recipe Summary
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes
Yield: serves 1
User Rating:
1 ounce thin bittersweet chocolate bar, such as Lindt
2 large eggs, beaten lightly
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk
4 1/3-inch thick slices stale egg bread
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
2 teaspoons sugar, or to taste
Confectioners' sugar for dusting
Mint for garnish
Break chocolate into 2 pieces. In a bowl whisk together eggs, vanilla, and milk. Using a 3-inch heart shaped cutter cut a heart shape from each slice of bread. Place a piece of chocolate on top of one of the pieces of bread and gently press another piece on top, pinching the edges. Repeat the procedure with other 2 pieces of bread. Dip bread into egg mixture, making sure they are soaked. Heat the butter in a non-stick skillet over moderate heat until it begins to foam, add the stuffed bread hearts and cook them, turning them once for 2 to 3 minutes per side or until they are nicely browned. In a bowl mash 3/4 of the raspberries and stir in the sugar. Stir in the remaining berries. Transfer the browned hearts to a plate and top with the raspberries. Dust with confectioners' sugar and garnish with mint.

A picnic rug a grassy hill, a beautiful sunrise, fresh fruit and dark grape juice, coffee in a thermos and two people who understand each other and don't need to say a word as they savour the moment together.

Go outdoors. Pack the night before. Include champaghe and OJ. Cheese, crackers, caviar, exotic fruit, good coffee. Head for the hills really early and watch the sunrise.
