Flintstones: yabba-dabba-doism

The Flintstones worshiped Christ our Rock. This is the song that was popular at their church.

The Solid Rock

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

(Refrain)

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Fred used to boogie to that song while he was working at the gravel pit for Mr Slate. And during lunch they would get into deep theological discussions about this passage of the Bible.

In Matthew 16:18, the word "rock" refers to Peter's confession of faith, and not to Peter himself, despite the fact that Peter/rock is a play on the word for rock in Aramaic [petros] and Greek [petra].

As we read in 1
Corinthians 10:4, "...they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ," Who alone is the very foundation, or true Rock, upon which stands the Church. It is on Jesus Christ, the Rock, that the Church's unchanging faith and confession is firmly rooted.

I'm pretty sure that the Jetson's worshipped the Heavenly Father too!

Are you kidding me? Did you actually say catholic? First of all it was a cartoon so I don't think it's even a valid question. Second of all, the cartoon was supposed to take place THOUSANDS of years before christ, so they COULDN'T be catholic. Third of all, it was all made up so it doesn't really matter. They Celebrated Christmas before there was a Christmas to celebrate. I guess the closest you could place them to is one of the old releigions that originally used the solstice tree to celebrate the middle of winter and the expected spring thaw.

Probably some polytheistic religion as all other decent people in stone age...

As for Jetsons.... hmmm.... They didn't believe in God, it was proved some 1235 years before their time that there's no God...

Religion has been the ruination of so many things in this world, so do us all a favour, and leave the Flintstones out of it.
