I'm moving from central Texas to the West Palm Beach area with my 15 yr old son and 11 year old daughter. We are leaving the only town my children have ever lived in. We're also leaving their father. We have family there and will have some support but I'm not sure about the emotional toll or the basic logistics of moving that far. Any advice or comments are appreciated. God's peace.

Hello.I am aware of your doubt about the big move..I was married for ten years and lived in California.......I was divorced and moved from California to Illinois......With no family of support system....

At least you have family support....You just need to make sure ,That first and foremost you and your children are happy and safe....It sounds like you are aware of the relocation changes..
It will not be easy with your kids being older.....But as I said the most important thing here is that you are all safe and happy......

I have no information or reason for the split from the father nore do you need to share such info...
Just remember the lord will help you and your kids threw any thing you need help with...You just need to keep him in your hearts and your soul.....

I also know that teenagers are a little hard to reach and reason with..You will have to remember that there lives have been up rooted also and give them as much love and understanding as a teenager will allow.....

I hope you the best of moves and the best of your new life......You can contact me direct if you just need someone to chat with or to have an outside thought about issue's..
tanear1964 is my mail address......I also have some friends in florida that may be able to help you....
God Bless you and your's and keep you safe....

You're a strong woman for taking that step. West Palm Beach is a great area and I'm sure all the good times you will have there will outweigh any angst or bad times.

You are an extremely lucky lady! I left my home in Scotland, with 2 kids and travelled over 200 miles.I had no home to go to.I had no family waiting for me.I didnt even take my coat.I had nothing. You have family, that means everything to kids. They will be fine.My kids are emotionally well-balanced,happy.It was like an adventure.A new start, new friends, new places to visit. We have a nice home now,I have a wonderful partner of 2 years who treats the kids like his own.It was like a challenge, but exciting.everything is new and different. They will make new friends quickly.Enjoy moving and making a fresh start, you have everything to look forward to.yes there will be rocky times, but it will all even itself out.take care, you and your kids.x
