Because women and their thoughts and opinions have been so devalued over time that in order to compensate for this, some women have a tendency to try to show how smart they are. Not all women are like this, but you can bet if a girl is overtly trying to show you how smart she is, it is because someone told her she was stupid and made her feel like she didn't matter or didn't have value in who she was her entire life.
You'd be surprised just how often this very thing happens across America every single day.

Some just are smart and it's most natural for them...
Some are just insecure about something or another.
There was a girl in my HS that pitched a fit when she got 98% on tests... how snobby. Really, I think it boiled down to insecurity for her. If she didn't get 100's or better with extra credit, she felt like she couldn't feel good about hersefl.
Retarded.
I'm smart and I usually get really great grades, but I actually don't *care* about my grades. I like learning. I like knowing new stuff. But know what? If I get an *(&hole professor that grades like a *(&-head and can't make a fair test to save his/her life... and I wind up with a B or even a C on a test- whatever!
It pays to get A's but C's get degrees. I know that's cheesy, but it's true.
I don't sweat the small stuff...

We don't 'always try to be overly smart'. Some guys and some girls are smart@sses, and it appears that you have come across many smart@ss girls.

Simple. Its a defense mechanism because deep inside they're weak and by acting over smart, they somehow cover their flaws.

Female tend to act smarter or raise there social stand instead being there self. They think they would get a better man. and Sometime they are funny. They try to reach higher at least.
