I was stupid and reproduced with my ex last year. Anyway, he claimed our daughter and was not supposed to. He has not paid a penny to child support, she does not live with him, he also made less money compared to myself because he couldn't hold down a job.
I want to report him but I am not sure who to call or what number. I am sure there is probably a number to the IRS that I could call to repsrt his fraud.

Here's the link to get a form to report the fraud. Make sure to keep good documentation showing that you supported your child in full. If there is no agreement on claiming the tax exemption (sometimes there is in divorce cases) he will have to demonstrate to the IRS that he paid more than half of the child's support. Your records will make it difficult for him to prove this.

I presume that you claimed the child on your tax return. Since two people cannot claim the same dependent on separate tax returns, it is vital that you pursue this so that the IRS does not come back and try to deny your right to claim your child. This is not vengeance. It is protecting your daughter.

There is a form IRS 3949A that can be used to report fraud. If the info proves correct you get a reward of 20% of the tax due as payment for the tip.

Check with your attorney or legal aid, they can direct you. You can go to the IRS site and do a search yourself. I would also check the deadbeat dad's site if there was a ruling that child support be paid. Good luck!

If you do not check a company before entering into a transaction, you could lose your money, time and credibility. Some widely used resources are the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the national fraud center (www.fraud.org) these days, you can easily find out more about a company using the internet in a few minutes. From a company's website, you can details about its ownership, how old the company really is and feedback from the company's customers.

I just want to add this. You don't want to end up paying for his mistake later if you both claimed her on your taxes. Do it soon just in case he tries to pin it on you in some way and claim he had he for half of the year or something else. Protect yourself so that you can keep taking care of your daughter.
