I watched a movie called The Excorism of Emily Rose, and it got me to thinking. Why is it in movies you only see Catholics who have been possessed. This is not a stupid question but a serious one. Makes you think don't it Catholics.

According to Bible, NO Christians can be harmed or possessed by demons.
Therefore, they (Catholics) are not real Christians.
I John 5:18 says We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that WICKED one TOUCHETH him NOT.

Its Hollywood!
Why are all the bad guys in Hollywood films either British or Americans performing with a British accent?
Why in movies when aliens come to conquer the world, it is always the USA which saves the day?
Its Hollywood and they need effects to get you to watch to pay the bills and make some money.
By portraying a priest in the battle against good and evil gives the film authenticity.

It's because the Catholic church is a know place to go if you are possessed. People know that priests are trained to do exorcisms. Other people get possessed and other christian based pastors do exorcisms. It's just not as publicly know as it is with Catholics.

Actually in MOST of those movies (The Exorcist, Stigmata for example), non-Catholics become possessed, and after getting no answers from shrinks or doctors they turn to the Catholic church for help.
Kind of makes YOU think, doesn't it?

Because Hollywood hates Catholics. Have you ever noticed that almost all religious parodies are about the Catholic church. I myself am Catholic, and personally I have never been posessed. Don't believe what you see in movies people, belive what you see for yourself.

Both Catholics and other Christians are frequently shown in a bad light in both movies and literature.
I think this is a subtle way of showing prejudice.

Have no idea......................it is not catholic or any other religion Christ died for us all.............and the religion mean nothing it is his death on the cross that takes care of the possessed.......I think they use the Catholic religion because they carry the cross in the church, and it is the look of it all....but the world is really possessed and they are mostly no religion..............

Because Catholic church is so full of Idolatry and the deguised worship of Satan that he constantly posseses his followers, crazy isnt it? People think they are worshiping God when little do they know that that statue of saint peter is actually the ancient Roman God Jupiter (for one small example)
