when i was in Pakistan I met a muslim man who married off both his 12 and 13 year old daughters to 2 wealthly saudi brothers who were after underaged brides. Lots of rich muslim men from the gulf travel to pakistan in search of little muslim girls.
when will this crime end?

I once knew a (American) businessman who regular traveled to Pakistan and he was continually approached by parents wanting him to take their daughters. They could not feed them and they were a liability.

Crime? Hardly.

What I may or may not be would seemingly be unrelated to the "question" you posed.

Perhaps you are unaware that children all over the world are starving. Obviously, you consider starving preferable to being provided food & shelter in exchange for sexual services.

And, it's not unique to Pakistan. Travel to Mexico some time and see how many 12 & 13 year old girls are available for "marriage."



It appears you would rather have them starve to death. Of the two, it would appear that having sexual relations is preferable to starving.

Give away all your money & possessions, eat garbage for about two years & live under a piece of cardboard (if you can find it) and then come back and tell us about your high horse "morality."

there are so many many issues in play in this scenario.

Yes I think it is wrong that girls are married off at the ages of 12 and 13... however go back in Englands history .. and not too distant past and you will find that the age of consent was 12.

morals, values, and beliefs do change over time.

There are many good reasons why young girls should not be married, and I presume, sexually active. Some of these reasons are health based. Some of these reasons are about emotional and psychological issues.

The issues of poverty are not the reasons that such young marriage is acceptable in some parts of the world It is a seperate issue, but an issue none the less.

Only education of all stakeholders can change this situation.

Judements and criticisms and emotive argument do not help the girls concerned. Only education of everyone can help change this situation.

not all of the world has the same age limits on things. Just as we as americans feel disgust towards that sort of thing (myself included). Drinking ages in europe are not an issue, they regularly allow children to drink alcohol. But, here it is a crime. Back in the pioneer days here brides were often that young. And, even though we don't encourage it, girls in the states get pregnant that young. So, you can understand how it might not be that stigmatized in backward countries. When I was 13 I looked 18 and could have walked down the isle with no one knowing I was under age, unless they knew me. I just hope that those girls are treated as wives and not slaves, but that is another matter.

Poverty makes these parents act like this. The real criminal is the one buying these children. Many of the rich men just use the girls as prostitutes. Children are being exploited all over the world. This is just one example of it.

Hopefully, the USA will get their act together and make strict laws to make sure the children are as safe as they can be... in our country.

Why do you think in west , fat, bald , old enough to be grandpa but rich get 18 year old models to get married?

Do you think if they coiuld marry lower than 18 year old , they will say no?

That's awful. Wonder what can be done. I think criminals are the wealthy men defiantly and parents aren't good either. They live in poverty and are desperate but to sell ur on children is awful. Hope something can be done about it soon.
