IT means a very wise and tactful way of protection.
i guess thats what the french expected from raymond anyway,but for now its all a dismal shadow over the mere utterance of RAYMOND in France,having lost the sweet taste of victory recently.....!
anyways,just dont mention this name to any french for now,they will weep buckets!!!

From the Germanic name Reginmund, composed of the elements ragin "advice" and mund "protector". This was the name of several (mostly Spanish) saints, including Saint Raymond Nonnatus, the patron of midwives and expectant mothers, and Saint Raymond of Peñafort, the patron of canonists.
