in one word AMAZING. they are also easy to train, protective of family, reliable with babies and small children. Lassie was an armature in comparison to the average German Shepherd

I can say that I own a German Shepherd and Lab. My Shepherd always looks at me with those eyes of "what do you want me to do next". She is very focused on me and pleasing me. She can be protective but I don't find it to be a problem as its always for good reason. She only looks for love as her reward. My Lab on the other hand, I love her dearly but she is a bit more "on my own time" and food motivated. Its all the kind of lifestyle you live too. My Shepherd has to get out everyday for a good run or else she gets antsy!

Intelligent, loyal companion, protector and friend. Keeps his distance from strangers, will not allow even a insect to fly into the house. Will be aggressvie towards other anmals anywhere and people entering your home.

Needs training.Bad breeding can give u a vicious dog, dangerous to man and animals cause of it large size and ability to inflict severe & life threatening injuries. Important to check the lineage before buying.

Needs daily excercise and brushing. Loves playing. Its large dog, with good appetite.Tolerant of your childrens bullying. Its a one master dog, that will listen mostly only to the main caregiver.

Great gaurd dog.

Shepherds are awesome dogs, but they are very very very protective. You need to handle them firmly and be the alpha. They have a very distinctive bark and they know how to use it! When in public, most that i've had experience with, will bark at anything that moves, especially when it travels too closely to its "pack". They are very intelligent dogs, and very easy to train, if you handle them properly. Overall, I love them.. They are wonderful with children of all ages, respecting them as a pack leader... and they are wonderful guard dogs. The down sides to them are of course the hips, and in alot of places owning one will make it difficult to obtain home owners insurance, unless you already have it.... Or don't own. I love the breed very much, over all I give them a big doggy 10.

They are great. They are on the smart end of the dog spectrum so learn behaviors and tricks well. They are very family loyal and can be protective. The down side is the shedding, and size.

I never have a day free of dog hair on my clothes or picking up dog hair tumbleweeds!

THE BEST AMONG DOGS! i used to hate dogs , but my kids and husband insisted on having one, so now i notice i am the one most attached to it. THEY ARE AMAZING! and you are hearing this from a person who literally hated dogs , but because of SPIKE(his name) i now visit the vet with him for his injections.
DONT DELAY GET YOUSELF ONE... forget the space and shedding,
