Don't most gods promote love and peace? Why fight over God then? If we get rid of Islam there might not be a problem.

most people are trying to defend their beliefs from someone tearing them down. Unfortunately it is normal for humans to defend how they feel. Yet, many people even get offended even of someone just believes differently without any offending. Islam is not a problem. It is the jerk/idiots that use Islam as a right to kill people. That happens in alot of religions. Look at the catholic church's history, and the KKK(white christian supremacy), it is in almost every religion. We are all fighting over who's God is better or right. When it is probably all the same god.

People are not fighting directly over God. They are fighting over things that supposedly they have been told by God, and anyone can say God told him to do just about anything. This is where the misinterpretation of the Qur'an works to the advantage of terrorists who want to use a misreading or out of context quote to justify a false position they have which in their mind gives them license to kill and destroy. So it is not the God that is the cause of the fights, it is people interpreting things in their own way to suit there own special purpose and give credence to their objectives, whatever they might be.

There are way more religions than Islam, and people fight about God because they all see truth in a differenet way, even in Christianity there are so many sects, If we really just all believed in living up right, there would be no fight would there? But people are too caught up in doctrine, thats why they fight, thinkin there way is best, but we'll see who is right in the end wont we?

Conflict is part of human nature. Religions, like nationalities, ethnic origin and other things, give people a shared identity, and all such factors can lead people into conflict with members of other groups. Get rid of religion and you'd get rid of one of the major causes of conflict in the world.

It is not Islam or Christianity or Hinduism or any religion. It is just fear and ignorance and the reluctance to understand each other. Each religion wants to control and to that end they say they are right and their God is the right one.

Because everyone thinks there god is the best god, the only god. Any other thoughts on their partwould shatter their belief.
The truth is, no gods exist, so it's all moot.
