I can't speak for anyone else, but I'll tell you what He means in mine. He's the one who understands my shortcomings, no matter how terrible I think they are, because He understands me. Through my understanding that He loves me despite these faults, I realize that I'm not quite as useless as I sometimes feel, and that despite the fact that His answers to my prayers are never verbal, I can unload all of my issues on Him, and He doesn't mind. He'll usually answer me in one way or another. He understands my passions better than anyone, so even when my best friends or family members don't understand why I love something, He knows why I do. He gives me a way to connect to other people- through Him. He is a universal language, and no matter what anyone believes (or doesn't believe) they will have an opinion about Him, so it gives me something to discuss that has some weight behind it- a topic of conversation that means something. Through religion, I understand people better, because most of what we are stems from our core beliefs.

Most importantly, I get along with people I don't like better, because I realize He made everyone for a reason, and that no matter how bad they come off, there's something in them somewhere that connects them to me.
