They say these things because they haven't seen Jesus for who he really is. They are blinded by the god of this age...satan.
Unless God reveals himself to them, they will stay in the dark about the truth.
We are to speak the truth and witness...God has to do the unveiling.
We can't do it, God has to.

Because they do not believe and they are blind.
Until they decide to seek Him out for themselves then they will stay will lack of knowledge, understanding and wisdom.
Some will even portray my answer as a dis but when you only believe in what you see and what is logical, then you are blind.
The enemy has setup his system that way that if you believe in anything suchas God Almighty you are deemed as controlled or wierd, or even persecuted in some countries.
Fear stops them. A very wicked spirit, people do not even know that they are imprisioned within the system. They think its just normal and thats how it works. Also his system would have them blaming God for everything bad.

because many of you aren't all that nice. You're small minded, bigotted and hate filled. You talk illogical nonsense and expect people to submit your beliefs with no rational evidence for them.
You also genuinely believe that it's acceptable that people are tortured for all eternity simply for not believing the same thing that you do. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.
Not all christians are like this - the ones that believe simply because they want a fuzzy feeling about what will happen when they die are all right.

Like you said, they don't know Him. As a born again Christian, I understand how they don't see what God has done and is doing. The Scripture also says that they are walking around blindly because Satan has a veil over their eyes.

Well, some hate what they think is Christianity. What they actually see and hate is not the true religion, but those who claim to be Christian, but who behave worse than pagan or heathens.
Some haters are just plain evil, so hating comes easily, to them.
