My dad's air conditioner has been going out and his mechanic put the R12 in and replaced Expansion Valve, but it only last a few days and there is a leak on the passenger side under dash so that may be the problem. Is it very expensive to take to a air conditioner place and have them put a new one in? Thanks! Cinde

I agree with Jeffy. Take it to a Nissan dealer and have them do the proper repair.

It is pretty expensive repair because of the amount of labor involved. To do the repair the dash has to come out. Depending on the leak, it may take a day or two, depending on weather the parts are in stock or not.

There maybe a leak in the line. Take it to a Nissan dealer -- not an A/C place. Some of those AC shops will rip you off.
