i have cats and i live in an appartment and some 1-3 of the neighborhood unfixed males like to come and sit on my balcony and stare at my kitties through the sliding door or screen. it's like kitty tv for my cats. all of my cats are spayed and nuetered so i don't think that is what attracts these boys. i think they just find companionship and entertainment with my cats even if it is through the window or screen. i will put crunchies and water out there for them as i think one boy is a stray. eventhough they are unnuetered i have no fighting or yowling problems. my cats are never allowed out on the balcony. if i were you and found this annoying i would first try "ssscat" spray from
www.drsfostersmith.com it emmits a noise and burst of air whenever a cat comes withing 1 meter of it. doesn't hurt the cat
in anyway but hopfully it will discourage them from using your balcony as the local guy hangout.

The felines can be very choosy and also temperamental at times. the particular instance you have noted is the age-old story of fight over females. The male cats have smet that the female is in heat and they fight with each other to have precedence in the matter. The female inside knows what lies behind the conflict. She also likes to enjoy this fight over her. She goes out to join the victor. It may be that this is not the emotion of love but sex and procreation for preservation of the species. However, as the materialists of old said the love that attracts Laila rowards Majnu is the same as magnet attracting iron.

I do hope your cat is spayed. If not you will be contributing to the gross pet overpopulation. Do you know there are millions of cats killed every year because there are not enough homes for all that are born? Do you know there are 45 cats born for every 1 human born? Do you knpw the dangers to outdoor cats?

Yes cats still have territorial issues even when neutered. I had one cat that was so aggressive, he would bark like a dog at the other cats and send them up a tree.

Your cat is concerned by the other cats because she wants you and your apartment for herself.

They can sense things and are very intuitive. If she is fixed then there really shouldn't be a problem with the males flocking to your doorstep, but some females give off a scent if they are in heat that attracks males...
