Because some people don't have any they are smart in one area but when it comes to common sense they just don't have it. Like the people in here that ask why people don't spell or use good grammar. They are so smart it makes them look stupid

most of us have common sense. Just that people tend to do things without careful thoughts to get things done faster, we realised we have to use common sense after doing mistakes.

Because it does not need explanation it is a rather elusive quality. It is used all the time but it is hardly ever noticed. In fact you only notice it when somebody states: "It was just common sense really."

School is for education, the "basics" are taught in the home.
