Vails are traditional. My best advice would be to go to a bridal shop and try some on. They come in all different lengths and designs. You could always get married diva style and wear a tiara. Those are always cute if of an appropriate size. The best way to tell if it would annoy you is to have one on.
Congratulations!!! by the way...

No, don't wear a veil it's really old fashioned. I think it's a really oppressive tradition. You know, keep the bride veiled so that the groom doesn't change his mind about his investment until after he's married to her. I think that it makes the woman look like a nun rather than a bride. Also it will get in the way whilst you're trying to party at the reception.
My vote would be go to the hairdressers and have your hair put into a nice up-do with flowers weaved into it that match the colour of your dress.

I got married a month ago and didnt wear a vail, I felt the top of my dress was too nice to cover and felt it was a bit old fashioned and I didnt regret my decision on the day. The photos looked really nice too. good luck.

It might annoy you but its traditional and lifting the veil in church is part of the ceremony, the bride is veiled till married and then the veil is lifted as she walks down the aisle a married woman, there is some symbolism and all there as well. Plus it looks really pretty and you want to look your prettiest on your wedding day, dont you? Besides its not like you have to wear it down all day, just for as long as the service is.

I wore a Vail at my wedding that I "borrowed" from my godmother. I took it off once I got to my reception dinner. I wasn't sure either, but when I was trying on my gown and she was there she brought it out for me to try on and it fit perfectly. Try on a veil with your gown and try various types, I was really glad that I wore one for the wedding because it fit with the dress, without it afterwards it seem like a really fancy ball gown and not a wedding dress. Congrats, enjoy your wedding since it will fly by so quickly!

I was asking myself this question a few weeks ago. I just went into a bridal shop and tried some on. I found one that matched my dress perfectly. Everyone else is right. Hopefully, you will only do this once so go all out. After I tried the veil on I felt like a bride. Without it, it truly is just a fancy ballgown. Good luck planning!

A vail looks very pretty. Plus you only wear it until you kiss your new husband - after that you lift it over so it falls behind you.

I would say to try some different styles on and see if you like it with your dress and the hair style that you're thinking of. and just because you have a veil doesn't mean it has to be the virgin veil that you wear over you face. it can be a piece of fabric that hangs from your hair or covers your head.... it's all your personal preference. good luck.
