You need to communicate a lot. Feel free to express any ideas. Don't hesitate. If u're stopping them form doing something tell them the reason behind it. Kids are very inquisitive and unless u don't let them knw the pros and cons they would't care. Be loving and affectionate and do trust them too. Make them feel they are very responsible and if u can reward them. Adolescence is a very crucial phase but this is when u've got to pay more heed to ur kids. Treat them as a grown up and don't supppress them. Discard emotional blackmail coz they can get back to u.
All the best

No one can make any one trust them. Trust is earned and not a given. Trust is valuable not only in the inner workings of a family but in the business world and also with friends.

Don't try to limit them too much. Let them win on the little things. Make it clear to them that you are looking out for them, and tell them they can tell you anything without fear of immediate punishment. If they are in a tough spot, their life is much easier if they can talk to you about it, rather than feeling that they'll be grounded no questions asked.
If you let them have autonomy over their own life, they'll be much more likely to take you seriously on the big stuff. Always have an open mind and genuinly listen to their concerns. Compromise doesn't have to mean letting them win.

yes right, do you remember when you where younger. lol tell them that they can trust you if they ever want to talk to you that you would never get mad at them as long as they tell you first. and you cant' get mad at them. keep a open forum with you kids, at all times. That is what my mother and father did to me and I have turn out good. Know we laugh about them. Plan family get together thing that they like, Mine was go carts, and remote airplanes. But don't ply or act like them. Talk to them as you would your husband or wife as a equal, don;t belittle them or take over them. Make your point, then let them respond back, since they need to learn this in the real world. And have them resolve the promble or fix it. It would make them fill like adults. and trust.

My children have a lot of trust in us. They know that their father and I are there for them always, no matter what. And they know that we would both protect them with our lives.

Talk to them,be open to them and dont lie.
Alot of parents say lies to kids in order to prevent them from doing things which they dont want them doing.
Dont do that.Instead just talk to them reasonably and they would begin to have faith in you. That would later develop to trust :-)
