If they are indoor cats, it would be highly unusual for them to have an upper respiratory infection. Unless you just got them or added a new cat recently, with in a month or two. Also another option is if you have an immune compromised kitty...Felv/Fiv , Herpes...etc, etc. If none of the above the other option is you cross contaminated from a sick kitty out of your home. Or your house is dusty...lol
Obviously go to the vet, if it doesn't stop, gets worse or starts to have a discharge from eyes, or nose...or stops eating, drinking, difficulty breathing...blah, blah
* NOTE: Just like humans, your doctor should not give your cat antibiotics "just because." If they cat has bacterial symtoms of a viral infection then by all means treat it. But how often do you get antibiotics for a freakin cold??? There is such thing as antibiotic resitance growing in dogs and cats too!

Yes, but they are considered upper respiratory tract infections in cats, and are usually preventable with vaccination. If they have nasal discharge, they probably have an upper respiratory tract infection.
If you think your cat has a cold, you need to get it into the vet to be put on antibiotics so it doesn't progress( it can get bad enought that they stop eating and drinking and they end up very lethargic), also to get the proper vaccines

I love my cats and I'm usually worried when they get colds, especially when they're still kittens. Go to a vet or at least treat it with more care and attention [if you can that is]. My cats have already had kittens who died since they had a cold.
:)

yes, my cat did. it was an upper respritory infection. his sneezing got worse over time, until there was blood coming out. he got anti-infammatories and antibiotics, and he's fine now. He got it from stray cats that had not had any shots!

Of course they can, there is a type of flu that is going around, where the animals are sneezing and coughing, take your kitty to the vet, for injections it is not fatal but just in case please take your baby.
