I have heard that if you drink Hot water with a slice of lemon inside it every morning it helps with weight loss. Is this true? And is it Dangerous?

As opposed to weight loss I believe this helps more with water retention and detoxifying your system. It is a good alternative to any kind of processed drink but if you're looking to go healthy then just drink water... this is the best thing for you. If you really want to lose weight though the answer is simple, eat natural foods and lots of vege's and unprocessed meats... avoid all processed foods and EXERCISE!!!

Just as an aside.... do not listen to the person who has advised you to add salt to it. This is a poor attempt at a joke as that is definitely not good for you and could make you sick.

I doubt that there's any easy method for weight loss. If you drink lemon water in place of other more calorie-saturated drinks (chocolate milk, ovalteen, soda) I'm sure that it could have some effect upon your weight loss goals -- but, as some miracle-cure for being overweight, I doubt it. You'd be much better off just eating a little less of every meal, and walking a little more each day.

We are supposed to drink 8 glasses of water during the course of a day. My brother has lost a lot of weight and he swears that drinking loads of water is the key. As for the hot water and lemon, it is supposed to cleanse the system and I`ve heard it is a really good thing to do. It`s also supposed to help weigh loss if you drink a tiny bit of apple cider vinegar in hot water. Hope this helps.

Well... yes and no. Drinking your 8 glasses of water a day everyday will help you in your weight loss, as long as it's part of a healty diet. So, your hot water with lemon could help you a little. But, just doing that and nothing else isn't going to make any difference.
I personally use hot water and lemon for a sore throat and hoarseness.

I have found it useful, it is calorie free and the sourness stops you wanting to eat.. somehow! I think herb teas/ lemon tea serve the same purpose. I just squeeze half a lemon into a coffee cup
but you could use less. Definitely not dangerous and definitely not a miracle weight loss solution.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

The Chinese naturopath I used to see always said to do that as it helps to flush out the body. It gives you a psychological boost to that you are starting the day on a healthy note. I find it much better even than coffee (which I am generally devoted to) and not dangerous at all. How could it possibly be dangerous? I don't think the water was supposed to be too hot though, just warm.

No.. But if you take a spoon of honey before bed, it burns calories as you sleep. I doubt very much that a slice of lemon with hot water is a hazard to your health. Only if you spill it on yourself it may scald :)

The best way to lose weight. STOP EATING when you are no longer hungry. There is no need to eat everything on the plate, just because it taste good.
