People seems to be praying God when they ar emuch n pressure of doing something. Or Just didnt meet deadline or fearful or feeling guilty . But in happier time, we talk about our human achievements. and how we are competetive. Really then we need a God? Virtualy man has acieved everything which our Gods in anceint time was doing. eg. Flying, killing with remote weapons and giving birth to a child out of womb...

Who belives in God, belives in Sin! And who belive in God, fears him so he/she tries to be not sinful or be just good to human, animals and nature.

So its hard to keep high morals when God is not around. God is another name of good hope. So it oesnt matter for many if he is an accident to us, of its just happened to be getting one god, how he looks, does is really show of or whatever, he remains major invisible force amoung us, to survive ourselves as well as this beautiful world.

God created Us?? hard to find answer. But Yes, man created aGod out of him, giving him all supremacy to rule him. He knows there someone need to take care of everybody! Yes, we do need God!

Sorry if this has been said already but ...you don't get it lol. It isn't about achievements, being able to fly or reproduce or anything like that. It is about the fact that (and I think history has proven this) men cannot solve their own problems. So YES, we need God...now more than ever, it seems lol.

Need is a relative term...you need air to live, food, water, shelter from harsh climates, etc...essentially everything a person has or is has been or will be given and created by God..so where is the difference when you are lacking emotionally, spiritually, physically, mentally? Through Him we live, move and have our being and it is now as it has always been our inability to desire acknowledgment as that which has caused all of our problems. We turn to ourselves when we have no real power except to think stuff up that bastardizes Gods perfection in creation. Every technological advancement just causes us more and more grief down the line somewhere..as evidenced by all the mass embalances in the world. Yeah, those that believe pray to God..but a true believer will pray without ceasing rather then being the foul weather friend of Christ. Seeking His face shouldn't be like runnin' home to mama when the world grows harsh or we've messed up our inward person. A true believer see Him everyday and gathers to themselves all the thoughts, words and deeds pertaining to God that are possible. Look at all the time and attention paid to us...people say..Oh well, look at all the suffering in the world...blame God and look at all that science has done...embrace knowledge. Knowledge can't do too much for a child dying of cancer..but God can put a peacefulness and joy into the frail body that few healthy people ever will ever truely feel. The meek shall inherit the earth..all the metriculators in the world won't find salvation in one single achievement or discovery or development..because all they will ever be doing is evil in creating a world on God's earth which is bound for destruction anyway. Listen to the Word of God...

Revelation 11:17&18

17saying:
"We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
18The nations were angry; and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your saints and those who reverence your name,
both small and great—
and ...

for destroying those who destroy the earth."

We achieve nothing in this life or on this planet but death...even in prolonging one persons life who is deemed worthy...others are detroyed in the wake. In God's eyes...He is no respector of persons but causes the sun to rise and set and the rain to fall for all men alike...so..yes, indeed we need God. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

OF COURSE we need God!! We did not keep our heart beating and blood running through our veins. Many DO pray when they are in trouble, but it shouldn't be that way because the Bible says that we should "pray without ceasing" (you know, in our cars, etc.-just whispering a qucik silent prayer). We should not use GOd as a "slot machine" to be used only when it's convenient for us. We busy our lives with so much foolishness and give God what's left over (IF there IS anything left)! Is easy to love God for who HE is when HE blesses us and everythings going well in our lives, but He also wants us to love and TRUST Him when things aren't going so well. The Bible says that "weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning". God is always there even when we don't feel Him. He's there with every song the birds sing, with every wind that blows, with every tear we cry (happy or sad). The BIble also talks about how man cannot even CONCEIVE of the good things that God has for us. So what man has accomplished on earth is NOTHING to GOD.

People create a concept of God to help explain things that appear to have no rational explanation and so they have someone(thing, place) to turn when they feel they have no power or control over a situation.

It can be a good thing when it leads them to follow the basic ten commandments or the golden rule. And if it's a comfort in times of distress that can be a good thing.

It's a bad thing when they use their definition of God and "his teachings" as an excuse to do horrible things like start a war, attack a people who's beliefs are different,...or they simply apologize without changing their behavior and say they're "forgiven".

As to the question of need? On an individual basis, many apparently do, and that's why they believe. On a human being, all people basis- it's hard to say. They certainly shouldn't "need" a definition of God to believe in to live a good life and fulfill their purpose for being here. We can learn and grow as people without relying on a concept of God I suppose, certainly if that concept of God differs among people and causes such controversy.

Of course we need God. And just like you said people fall to their face and cry out to him when they are facing a hardship. And our sinful nature comes out with pride when we have everything, we say 'Look what I got alone.' "The proud will be humbled and the humbled will be exalted." There are only 2 gods, the one of this world, Satan and the One in Heaven. All these evil things that happen here on earth are due to our sinful nature and the evil ruler. Every miracle you have seen happen comes from God. God has given man knowledge to do what we know man can do, fly, make things, etc... Giving birth is a miracle.

I firmly believe that one can be a good, productive, moral human being without believing in any gods. On the other hand, I think every human needs some quiet introspective time to figure out what he or she wants in life, and then call on his or her inner strengths to get it--and whether you call this practice prayer or meditation or just sitting about and thinking... or whether you consider your moral compass to be that which is "godly" in you... is really none of my business. I think we can make religion work for us, not necessarily only the other way around. So long as religion is providing people with useful guidance, I wouldn't make any effort to get rid of it--whether we need it, strictly speaking, or not.

Well I guess I'm the living evidence that a person does not need God. I admit it is hard at times to accept that I'm the one doing crap and not making God responsible for everything...

I can't speak for anyone else. But, yes I need God in my life. He has carried me over many rocky times in my life when I couldn't have gone it alone. I also try to give Him praise, in the times that are good, and thank Him for what I have. God likes to hear from us in the good times as well as the bad.

I don't seem to need an imaginary sky-god, I'm not being arrogant here...it might be nice to have a God if he was looking out for you but I see no evidence for there being a God and it doesn't concern me a bit.
