I am trying not to eat any carbs for 1 whole Month and sometimes I run out of ideas. I am still eating fruits and lots of vegetable in place of carbs. No potatoes and rice. I have eggs and cheese for breakfast and Lunch I have tuna with celery sticks and raw carrotts. For dinner I have meat and loads of cooked vegetables and bedtime snack is fruit and cottage cheese or peanut butter and apples. Sometimes I have Chocolate Milk. What elese can I eat that is not a carb? I am tired of eating the same things over and over again and need more of a variety. No variety makes me want to give in and start eating crackers and popcorn and bread, which I gain weight from LOL! Oh and I am exercising 30 minutes every day. I am doing Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds one mile or an evening walk and up 5 flights of stairs to my apartment. I always thought I would not have energy without carbs but I feel great! I have more energy than ever without carbs. The rice and potatoes seems to make me sleepy.

I've felt heaps better ever since I gave up bread as well. But don't get bored, just get more creative. I got a fruit dryer and dried out mango and cantalaupe and had all my favourite spreads on the dried fruit. Mango goes especially well with honey and cream cheese. You can make pizzas on sweet potato instead of dough in the oven or use baked parsnip as a base for cream cheese, cashews, honey and sesame seeds. Pumpkin goes particularily well with macadamia nuts and honey and apple goes well with pecans or cashews and banana. Peanut butter can be alot more full of fat than other nuts though. Almonds are particularily good. I mean it is easy to think of life as boring without bread or rice as that is the thing you can't have but if you look at it another way those things in themself are awfully boring and monotonous and the alternative possibilities can be a lot more interesting. There are rice crackers that are made with corn instead if you are not opposed to corn. I always think of corn as a vege. You could have celery with peanut butter and sultana's, I always thought that was delicious or with dates inside. Sometimes I cook asparagus and lay it inside the celery and have it with baked garlic, lemon juice and pepper and tomato sauce ( sauce, and any condiment can make anything that seems boring nice I reckon, I am a full blown autocondimentor ( a term gleaned from Terry Pratchett books) I never even get to tea I'm so busy finding all the sauces in the cupboard.)

Try a yummy yummy salad with a big bowl of soup! You can put fun things in your salad to make it less boring... cranberries, strawberries, mandarin oranges, candied walnuts (high in protein!) and chicken with a balsamic vinaigrette dressing is great! I eat them all the time!

You can have lettuce wraps, take big leaves of boston lettuce and fill it with black beans that you've cooked with cumin and chili powder (makes it taste more like a taco!) and then top it with tomatoes, cheese and sour cream, wrap like a burrito and enjoy!

If you get the munchies for chips or something like that, get veggie chips instead. I love plantain chips with salsa for a snack! Yummy and good for you too!!

On a hot summer day, instead of a regular salad, throw together a fresh fruit bowl for yourself! Half a cantaloupe and use it as the bowl!! Throw in whatever you like, blueberries, strawberries, melon, banana... top it with cottage cheese and a drizzle of honey and some chopped nuts. That way you get your fruit, your dairy and protein all in one!!

Good luck on your quest! Email me anytime and I'll come up with some new recipes!! :-)

potatoes make you sleepy - tomatoes do too btw. they solanaceous herb....
i eat low carb and i find it very help full to eat glass noodles (made of mungo-beans/soy-beans) you get them in every asia-shop. they are very very cheap an ready to eat in 3 minutes. just chop some veggies and spice it with soy-sauce: loooovely!
make homemade popcorn: they are much healthier: use a bit of oil only and pop them in a pan...(don't forget the lid!)

one other thing: try to stay away from milk-products (except goat)!!
that stuff will stay on your hips forever and on top of that it is not healthy and most people are allergic against milk products even if they don't know it!
i live without milk stuff and i lost a lot of weight in no time! all my doctors told me to and it works perfectly fine. i got rid of my pimples and allergies that way too!
just one thing to think about: every baby stops drinking mother milk after a few month, every calf and puppy stops drinking milk after a while - its just us human beings that keep eating chees and stuff as if there was no tomorrow....
all the best to you and your weight-plan! don't forget: don't go on a diet - change your lifestyle forever! you can do it!!

You can't not eat carbs. They're required for energy. Also, fruits and veggies are full of carbs.

the whole no carb thing is a really bad fad. it'll clog up your system if you know what i mean and make you more prone to getting sick.
processed cards and sugars are bad but whole grains are really good for you.
