The male takes in the eggs that the female lays and they develop inside a pouch on his belly. When they are ready they burst out so it is like he gives birth to them, although it is not the same as the usual form of giving birth.
One of nature's little jokes I suspect.

The female deposits the fertilised eggs in a cavity in the male's tummy, and the young emerge from that cavity.
So I would say that the male delivers the young.
