Every time I would have a girl at our place, he would say & do things to ruin the mood. He'd always have something to say about every girl I (dated).I broke the friendship off because he knew he had a guy thing when he met me,I would've told him we couldn't be friends at that point! But no he waited 2 years. Was that the right thing to do?

Well, I'm proudly Gay, but I don't like push ons either. I can understand your exercise of anger towards him. Seems he was a bit immature.

Did you have to break the friendship? I dunno! You called him "a best friend" in your question. Was there nothing to salvage?

Is homophobia playing a part in all this?

Are you dead set against having any friends who are Gay? or are you just angry at this particular person being dishonest about this matter with you?

I'm not sure how you could be friends with someone for two years and not know that person was gay. I can see you being upset if he lied to you, and about his inappropriate behavior around your girl friends. But, to say that you would,'t be friends because he's gay, is a bit narrow minded.

OK, Gay or not he had no reason to be rude and talk bad about your girls that you dated. Also since he saw you dating girls not gay men, he should have known that you did not want to be involved with him.
In my eyes you did the right thing. He really acted like a spoiled jerk.

If he was living at your place, you did fine. If he shares equally in the rent or mortgage, though, the proper response was probably, "I'm moving," instead of telling the other guy when to move out.
