Honestly, Lexus is nothing more than a more luxurious Nissan. All of the parts are pretty much the same, and you will find that many of the engines are identical.
BMW, on the other hand, are more of a privately owned company which has great road cars. I know for a fact that they are very safe. I had a friend of mine roll his BMW 3 times, and he had no injuries at all!
If you actually feel like spending that amount of money, I would personally go with the BMW. Plus, I think that the newer BMW models have a sleak and sexy look to them even though I am a GM guy!

A Lexus is not a Nissan, it's a Toyota. I'd say it's a tossup on this one. You can't go wrong either way. Money aside, I'd probably go with the BMW. I think you'll find that Lexus has a better reliability record though.
