Are they "baptized" into agnosticism?

Agnostics are indecisive people on their way to atheism but still a little scared to say they don't believe in a God in case they are struck down...they still have some lingering theistic conditioning to overcome, whether from indoctrination or just picked up from the religion saturated culture.
Anyway they get their @sses stuck on the fence and just stay there helplessly...one day they have to come down on one side or the other but for now they are paralysed...circulation cut off... the pins & needles must be dreadful. I say make the decision...leave the myths and fiction behind and come back to full reality...it's safe here, you'll be fine!

Agnosticism is totally unofficial--no baptism, no rites, nothing like that. An agnostic is simply one who believes that there is no proof for the existence of God, and yet no proof for the nonexistence of God. They are undecided. They acquire it by committing to nothing. It is not a formal thing.

I'm an agnostic myself. We believe that there is no way to prove or disprove the existence of god or a higher power. Because of this, most of us are very open minded when it comes to different spiritual beliefs. We acknowledge the possibility that any one religion could be right, none of them could be right, or ALL of them could be right. There's just no way to know.

lol at the previos poster. Agnosticism is the belief in God without a formal religion. Atheism is the disbelief in God.

Agnostics believe that you can not know if there is or is not a God. They wont deny the existance of a God, but will not accept the presence of a God either.

My personal definition: Agnostic is a person who does not believe on way or another and does not think it really matters. All the rest is politics.

They are honest when they say that they don't know if there is or is not a diety. There are many diffrent types of agnostics. Weak, Strong, Naturalist, Humanist, Unitirian, ect...

It is hard to put them all into one generalization.

It's easier to be an atheist. We KNOW God doesn't exist.
