I'm not religious, and respect Atheist views (which are actually quite varied and deep), as much as I do religious views (for different reasons, of course). I notice that Atheists don't often get to expand beyond certain limited questions, any more than many of the religious people do. Time to shake that up. Let's add some more creativity to our questions. Help me start it off, atheists. Religious people, your questions will come in a day or so, tailored for various religions according to YOUR beliefs rather than mine or anyone elses. Thanks for your help in giving Atheists a chance to show you their own vision of what a deity SHOULD be to them (if they suspend the assumption that they don't want one, which is perfectly possible for them to do for one question. They aren't so single-minded that they can't use their imagination anymore any more than religious people are.
Shall we stretch the definitions a little folks? Go for it Atheists, give it a try...

Interesting hypothetical question mckenziecalhoun ! I am not an atheist yet I am not religious. I think my diety would "when summoned" allow a person to see themselves from perspective of others and help us realize that we are all connected.. in fact everything has a degree of consciousness. I think my diety would impart the idea in people that no "GOD" that is going to save them from themselves or others...they need to do that for themselves....Jesus was an enlightened man whose words were twisted for a dogma which has been perverted by mankind..... The last thing this diety would explain to them is that it is merely a focal point of conscouisness that is invisible, everywhere and eternal and actually a part of themselves so they are really interacting with part of themselves.....then they should click their heels together 3 times and say to themselves...."I was never created....and I will never die and I am here for a higher purpose but it is my mission to reconnect with that higher purpose, anything is possible, and this physical dimension os merely one of many different dimensions but we identify with form and ego and therfore almost never see the trancendental truth which is the glory of being"

My god would evolve and learn. No omnipotence here.
My god would be a busy, hardworking god, actively bringing comfort to those who needed it - Or at the very least running an angelic counselling service, to bring that comfort all over the globe, 24/7.
My god would not care whether you were male or female, rich or poor, heterosexual or homosexual, young or old. It would accept you as you are, and accept homage humbly, not with pomp and ceremony as its "right".

Actually, I find the universe to be rather perfect as it is. If some deity created this place, I'd vote him in another term.

He would be all powerful, physically let people know he exists and randomly blow stuff up because he would be a malevolent God... since only a malevolent God would allow the atrocities committed to be committed.
