no, the aim of dating is to become friends and have someone you can enjoy and spend time with.. there is many that do not want to get married anymore.. i like having a companion and to be loved and treated good and i do the same in return..enjoy being with each other and if you fall in love and really want to make that step.. but i would make very sure myself...

Dating exists not for mating; it exists for collecting
data. I believe that the biblical design would be
friendship, courtship, and then marriage.
Friendship
is two people walking together in agreement and
accountability, learning and growing together.
Courtship follows the mutual agreement to commit to
one another exclusively--it is the decisive turning
toward the agreed-upon goal of the marriage altar. It
is a period of laying a foundation and preparing your
life together after marriage.
But dating? Well, if you
do date, use the time wisely to gather facts:
Hope this helps.

Not necessarily I think that you could date somebody forever and never get married. I think that dating is for companionship it doesn't ultimately end up in marriage.

For some people it is. Unfortunately, the ones that are looking for the lasting relationship end up with the ones looking for a guilt free lay.

for some. I think of dating as trying out a new pair of shoes...you have to walk around a little to see if they fit...and there is never just ONE pair that goes with everything!
