A first offense normally won't get you jail time. But it will cost you several hundred $$$ and may require you to get proof of financial responsibility via SR-22 for up to 3 years. That will be VERY expensive.

In Texas it cost about 350 dollars. If you do not pay the fine it would result in 7 days in jail. Oklahoma you only get 5 a day for jail time. that would be 70 days. I think it depends on your state. Maybe you would get a fat ticket and pay it out. You might be able to avoid jail all together.

My stepbrother drove without insurance and he didn't go to jail. He just got a hella big fine for it. I think you only go to jail for repeat offences. Then again, you probably don't live in Oregon, so your state may have a different law.

I do not think you go to jail ?? I think you get finned for every day that you did not have insurance .. Call your local DMV and ask

i think its a fine and a banning isnt it? 6 months or so, depends were you are from i guess.
